Liza Minnelli's Rep Sends A Gift To Shia LaBeouf

by Emma Goddard

Either someone is actually beginning to genuinely feel sorry for Shia LaBeouf or Liza Minnelli’s longtime rep is just mocking the former Transformers actor with this most recent present. That is, it’s hard to tell if Scott Gorenstein sending LaBeouf the 1972 film version of Cabaret starring Minelli was meant to be heartfelt or a big joke.

After police arrested LaBeouf Thursday night for criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct when he disrupted a performance of Broadway’s Cabaret however, it appears as if Gorenstein is just adding salt to the wound.

“I figured he may want to find out how it ends,” Gorenstein told Page Six, later also stating on Facebook, “What can I say? I just had to” in response to the article.

While Gorenstein may have truly been trying to do something good for the actor (because lawd knows he needs some of that in his life), this is definitely going to be a major burn to LaBeouf. Yet with all of his ridiculous antics lately, there’s really no telling whether or not LaBeouf will respond to Gorenstein’s gesture with appreciation or even more of the anger we’ve seen him take out on police offers and even random strangers.

Yet maybe, just maybe, this gift will bring him a little bit of peace.
