Nick is Definitely The One For Andi

by Nicole Pomarico

Let's be up front: I am totally on board with Bachelorette Andi Dorfman marrying a (slightly boring) guys who's still hanging in there this far into the season. But most of all, I want her to end up with first-impression rose winner Nick Viall. And yes, I know the idea of finding true love on a reality show is, in general, the most ridiculous idea ever. Who's to say that the person you're meant to be with actually auditioned for this show, anyway? Do you want the person you're meant to be with to be the type of guy who auditioned for a reality show (even if you're starring in one)? But when it comes to The Bachelorette, suddenly, a reality competition seems like a super realistic (if not completely ideal) path to finding a soulmate to spend the rest of your life with. Especially if it leads to someone like Nick.

Personally, I've been rooting for Nick all along, despite the fact that the guys behind the editing desks at ABC haven't. Nick is being made out to be the villain (especially as of last week's episode) this season on The Bachelorette, but that's not necessarily who he really is — and that's not who Andi thinks he is, either, or else he wouldn't have made it to Monday's hometown dates. Andi's been ever so dramatically open about the fact that true love may just be a fairytale, but I think Nick could be the guy to change her mind about that. Nick is definitely "The One."

We already know that Andi and Nick are compatible, but the idea of "The One" goes way farther than just compatibility — and so does their chemistry. Now that they've had the chance to get to know each other better, it's obvious that Nick is the guy who Andi should pick. And there are a lot of reasons, but these are some of the most important.

Family: Nick is all about it, and so is Andi.

In the previews for Monday's episode, Nick is obviously really excited to go home to see his family and introduce them to Andi — and I get the feeling that their approval means everything to him. Andi's also very family oriented, so their values align well. I also imagine Andi would be the ideal daughter-in-law — (potentially) lucky for Mama Viall.

His feelings seem super genuine.

Reality TV offers up a lot of fake tears, but when we saw Nick crying as he tells his mom about how he feels about Andi, that shit was real. He's also not afraid to let Andi know that he thinks she is The One, and with no uncertainty whatsoever reassures her that she is his "other half." He's very clear that his intentions, where she's concerned, are heading straight for marriage. And considering that she's in the market for a husband, this is what Andi needs: a no-nonsense approach to her happily ever after.

Nick, unlike Josh, can pull off a scarf.

This says it all to me.

He will do whatever it takes to convince Andi his love for her is real.

He's Just Not That Into You is more than a romantic comedy starring the always adorable Ginnifer Goodwin. Nope, it speaks the truth: If a guy likes you, he will do anything in his power to be with you... and in Nick's case, this means he took the gutsy (and controversial) leap into finding out Andi's room number on the sly to spend a little extra time with her. And Andi, fortunately, was totally receptive to it. Who doesn't want someone to break the rules to be with them?

Major spoiler alert in 3, 2, 1...

And if we live in a world where Reality Steve isn't being trolled and Nick actually does go home without the girl, I'm starting a petition right now to get Nick back as the next Bachelor. I'd watch him look for love again in a heartbeat... and he can feel free to bring his scarf.
