Honey Boo Boo is On Instagram, Ya'll

by Nicole Pomarico

Massive DIY Slip 'N Slides, jumping in giant puddles of mud, and bobbing for pig's feet: The Thompson family from TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo definitely has some pretty out-there ideas of how to have fun, but when it comes right down to it, they're just like us. They may live differently than some of their fans, but Mama June is busy wrangling a house full of teenagers (and one eight-year-old... and Sugar Bear), and pretty typical teenagers at that. The girls are often on their iPhones, so even though we rarely see any of them touch a computer, we know they care at least a little about online life, as all teens do. But were you aware that just about everyone in the Honey Boo Boo fam has an Instagram account? If you weren't, I am so sorry for you. You're missing out.

When you first click over to Mama June and Alana's shared account, I know exactly what your first thought must be: Holy underscores, Batman. However, once we get past the questionable typing habits, it's pretty easy to realize that this Instagram account is just what this world needs. Let's face it: A 10-episode season is nowhere near enough to fill our Honey Boo Boo craving, and that's where Instagram — wearing a cape filtered in X-Pro II for maximum effect — swoops in to save the day.

Of the 85 pictures and videos that have been posted since the account was first opened, here are some of my favorites. And trust me, it was no easy task.

The Video of Alana Promoting Her Own Show

Alana's in the pool, encouraging everyone to watch a new episode of Honey Boo Boo, but all I care about is Kaitlyn. How adorable is she? She's pretty much Alana's clone. Also notable: Pumpkin announcing at the end that she's going to go get a chair.

Whatever Kind of Race This Is

I would love to explain to you what's going on in this photo, but all I can tell you is that it is amazing. Have you ever wondered who would win in a race — an elephant, a dinosaur, a cow, or a hippo? Me, too.

June's Intense Selfie

Because for every Instagrammer, there is a crying selfie, and June's super close-up of her face while mourning the death of their beloved dog, China, is far superior to any other mascara-stained selfies out there — mostly because it isn't accompanied by an "inspirational" Marilyn Monroe quote.

Alana Gets Serenaded

In this precious video, Alana is absolutely delighted by a group of guys she met on vacation. The downside: You have to tilt your head to watch since the video's sideways. But it's fine, your neck muscles are already properly trained from the days before Emoji was a thing.

Alana Supports NOH8

Alana's supporting LGBT rights, and we love her for it. "Don't judge," she says. Girl, from your mouth to America's ears.
