Has Nick Jonas Always Looked Like This?

by Quinn Keaney

Once upon a time, long before the members of One Direction or 5 Seconds Of Summer had yet to dream up their first choreographed group number, there was a little band called The Jonas Brothers. Tall, dark, and handsome, this trio of musically gifted New Jersey boys came down the Disney pipeline with reckless abandon, stealing millions of pre-teen hearts in the process. These days, they're all doing their own things and youngest brother, Nick Jonas, just released the video for "Chains," his new single.

Back in the height of The Jonas Brother's fame, Joe Jonas had the bad boy looks and the lead in coveted Disney Channel Original Movies (don't even pretend like you've forgotten Camp Rock), and Kevin had the cool, older guy thing goin' on, but Nick Jonas was still a total heartthrob. With a mop of curly hair and I'll-bring-you-flowers-just-because stare, it was obvious Nick was going places. While those places didn't end up being my bed, as I'd always hoped, he still managed to keep his career (and abs) strong despite the dreaded Jonas Brothers break-up.

Nowadays, in addition to his new video, Nick is all set to release a solo album, complete with a much-hyped duet with forever-fierce Camp Rock alum Demi Lovato. As for the video, it makes me feel things. Lots of things. Things that I'll refrain from writing about for the innocence (and gag reflex) of everyone here. Nick Jonas is all grown up, everyone, and it's time he gets the attention he deserves. Wait. Have I mentioned his abs already? He has abs now. A ton of abs. Abs for days.

For a refresher, here's Nick back in the day:

And for a glimpse at what he looks like today, check out some stills from the new vid for "Chains." If you can get through it without immediately replaying it forever and ever into infinity, you're a much stronger person than I am.

The video opens with Nick being dragged across the floor. I imagine he leaves behind a trail of glitter and hotness, like a super sexy slug. That's weird. Whatever, let's go with it.

Then he's chained up to a chair, biceps out in all their glory. He reaches out towards the camera like, "Please, free me, so that we can elope and start a family band!" I'm 99% sure that's what the director was going for.

Then he's falling (in love with me).

Then there's a really nice close-up, which affirms my fantasy of what it would be like to roll over in bed in the morning and see Nick Jonas' subtly stubbly, chiseled face.

Then he seems to have a lot of difficulty running through what seems like a dust storm. It's a little odd, but it is yet another opportunity to look at his muscly arms, so I'm not complaining.

Then model Dylan Penn (aka the luckiest video girl in the world) leans in really close and tips over his chair. Rude, but then again, BICEPS.

Then finally, he's looking around, with passion in his eyes. Passion for his undying love for me? Only time will tell.
