She Looks All Grown Up in 'Flare' Magazine

by Erin Mayer

Teen celebrities — the ones who don't flare out into obscurity in a mess of controversy, that is — are often so fabulous it's irritating. They seem to skip right over the awkward, "figuring shit out" phase and sail into pseudo adulthood with grace. On this month's cover of FLARE magazine, Chloe Moretz, who looks like a full blown grown-up, is no exception.

The 17-year-old actress is almost unrecognizable on the front of the September 2014 issue of the magazine, which hits newsstands on August 11th. She wears an adorable light blue, long-sleeved dress with a jeweled bodice and a black leather Peter Pan collar. Her blonde hair is parted down the middle and runs pin-straight across one shoulder and she wears natural-look makeup and pale blue polish on her nails.

Chloe looks amazing but she does not look 17. In fact, as The Gloss points out, she looks about 30. There's not a cutesy pattern or an ounce of baby fat in sight. I'm all for sophisticated styling, but how about we let young celebrities actually be... young sometimes, you know? That being said, Chloe seems to be maturing gracefully, unlike some of her famous peers (hi, Justin Bieber). If this cover is any indication, she'll be far more sophisticated by 18 than many people are by 45.
