StyleStalker's 'Valley of the Dolls' Line is Here

by Erin Mayer

Remember Valley of the Dolls, the book about troubled Hollywood starlets and their love affairs with pills? Australian brand StyleStalker based a collection on the 1967 film adaptation of Valley of the Dolls , and the line is as crazy, sexy, and cool as it should be.

The collection, which launched on Wednesday, embodies upscale California cool lots of with lace, tie-dye, and loungewear silhouettes. The colors range from midnight black to deep blue to white and pink. These pieces, with their lingerie-inspired elements and relaxed fit, are perfect for romantic outings and poolside romps in LA. But might I suggest leaving the moody trysts with barbiturates in hotel rooms to the characters in the film?

My favorite piece from the collection is an asymmetrical dress with a crossed halter neckline, done in a shade of pink that mirrors the iconic book cover. It's sexy enough for a night out but still laid back in shape and fit. You can pair it with aviators, like in the StyleStalker lookbook, and a pair of strappy sandals. There's also a showstopping black "slip" in perforated black leather trimmed with lace. What better to clime the social ladder of Hollywood with, my dear?

Check out some selections from the lookbook below and head over to StyleStalker to score the collection for yourself.
