LC Changed The Bridesmaid Dress Game For Good

by Samantha Matthews

Thank you, LC, for giving us something to swoon over while we wait for your sure-to-be-Pinterest perfect wedding. Lauren Conrad launched Paper Crown's new bridesmaid collection and the gowns totally put that pesky old "ugly bridesmaid dresses" stereotype down for good.

Each of the dresses in the collection have a Grecian-meets-bohemian type feel, but every look is unique its own way. Many of the styles could go together as well, so for all the brides out there who are over the identically matching bridesmaid gowns, then this collection is the perfect answer. The line includes one over the knee dress, a few floor length gowns, and a couple of looks that hit right above the ankle. The color schemes include various bridal-party-appropriate shades of neutrals and blues.

If you aren't a bride-to-be yourself, like Conrad, or are a bridesmaid who's dress is being picked for you, these seriously gorgeous dresses can still find a way into your wardrobe. Need proof? Here are five places to wear these gowns besides on the altar at your bestie's nuptials.

1. A Fancy Dinner Date

Who says you can't wear this two-tiered chiffon number to a fancy date night out with that special someone? Add a statement necklace, heels, and bold lip and no one will know this dress is meant for a bridesmaid.

2. An Elegant Black Tie Affair

The lace overlay and floor length style of this gown is pure perfection, and if you're lucky enough to have a black tie event on the calendar I think I just did your shopping for you. You're welcome.

3. An Engagement Party

Sure, it's in the wedding family, but it's still different then a bridesmaid dress. Depending on the theme and location of the shower, this ankle-length gown could be a great fit.

4. A New Year's Eve Party

If your New Year's Eve plans typically include bars or clubs, then this dress probably isn't the best outfit choice. However, for those who spend New Year's at elegant dinners or fancy soirees then this ankle baring gown has your name written all over it. Plus the navy hue is perfect for winter.

5. A Garden Party

Although I'm not sure how many people who aren't Taylor Swift actually have the luxury of attending or throwing a garden party, I have visions of this gown being the perfect attire. Especially since the model is wearing a leaf crown atop her head.
