Nicki Minaj Is About to Break the Internet

by Alex Kritselis

Is Nicki Minaj preparing to top both "Bang Bang" and "Anaconda"? It certainly seems like it. On Thursday evening, pop music producer Dr. Luke tweeted that Minaj is "about to break the Internet." Wow, that's a pretty bold claim! Naturally, after seeing Dr. Luke's intentionally vague tweet, fans went absolutely berzerk, anticipating a Beyoncé-style surprise release of Minaj's upcoming new album, The Pink Print. Curiously, however, nothing happened. Huh.

So, when is Minaj going to break the Internet? And what exactly is she plotting? There's been no shortage of fresh music from Minaj lately (both "Bang Bang" and "Anaconda" are tearin' up the charts), but I think that she could be gearing up to release another new track very soon — and I'm definitely not complaining.

In his tweet, Dr. Luke teased that JMike and Cirkut, two fellow music producers, "know why" Minaj is going to crash the World Wide Web. JMike has worked with pop stars like Britney Spears and Selena Gomez in the past, and Cirkut co-produced Minaj's 2012 single, "Va Va Voom." Could these guys have created a new song for Minaj? I wonder...

One thing's for sure: In order for Minaj to truly shut things down, she's going to have to release something that's both really unexpected AND really cool. But what on Earth could it be?

Don't worry, I've got a few ideas:

"Super Bass" 2.0

True, when MTV asked Minaj in April if fans could expect to hear another song like "Super Bass" on The Pink Print , she responded, "Hell no" — but that was before the album's pop-friendly lead single, "Pills N Potions," fizzled. Minaj probably wants another solo crossover hit, and her fans have been clamoring for a sequel to "Super Bass" practically since the track was first released back in 2010. Dr. Luke, JMike, and Cirkut are three extremely talented pop producers — I want this thing to happen!

A Collab With Iggy Azalea

There might be some bad blood between Minaj and Iggy Azalea following Minaj's shady comments at the 2014 BET Awards, but if the two women can bury the hatchet and come together on a killer rap track, well, that could certainly break the Internet.

...A Collab With Lil' Kim

A collaboration between Minaj and Lil' Kim wouldn't just break the Internet — it would obliterate it. I mean, Minaj wouldn't dare...right? Right. But, then again, you neeever know. Of course, Lil' Kim would need to take a break from recording embarrassing Nicki diss tracks first.

Rihanna's New Single

Yeah, this one's kind of a long shot, but Minaj and Rihanna are pals who have worked together a couple of times in the past. We know that new music from Rihanna could be coming any day now...what if the two ladies teamed up to create a massive smash hit? I would lose my mind.

Something "Spicy" With Katy Perry

On Thursday night, Katy Perry dropped a vague tweet of her own, writing that she's releasing something "spicy" for our ears this Labor Day Weekend. Dr. Luke and Perry are basically best friends, and thus, Perry and Minaj are basically best friends, too. I've wanted Minaj and Perry to put out a song together ever since they covered Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" for some reason on VH1's Divas Salute the Troops in 2010. Will Minaj finally make my dream come true??

All I have to say is that I am ready to have my WiFi taken OUT. Show us what you got, Onika!
