K. Stew Wouldn't Be Caught Dead Tweeting

by Maitri Suhas

Kristen Stewart really does not care if you want to know what she's having for brunch. The actress told USA Today that while she does have an Instagram account, it's private, so stop looking for it. As for Twitter? Stewart's appalled by the idea of Twitter. As she said, "What would I tweet about? Who are you talking to? What are you saying? Imagine sitting here right now and thinking, 'That's a good thing to say to the world?' I can't even understand it."

That kind of criticism cuts to the quick for me personally, because I consider my Twitter my magnum opus. And I also think it's a really valuable tool for honest discussion and news. BUT! I guess if you're a celebrity, committing to social media like Twitter is more of a hassle. There's so much that has to go into every tweet to make sure you don't step on any toes. And I just don't think K. Stew gives a damn if people want access to her random musings.

Though I used to be a little wary about her DGAF and go away attitude, I've come to appreciate it. She's said recently that she wants to slowly leave acting to explore other art forms. I'm guessing part of that desire is to get away from the celebrity social media experience. She's definitely one who values her privacy, and maybe that's why she looks so pressed in interviews. But I don't blame her, it seems exhausting. Good on you, K. Stew. Keep your 'grams for yourself.
