Rent the Runway Is Doing an Exclusive Collection!

by Erin Mayer

Your favorite (okay, so the only) rental dress service has some big news: Rent the Runway is debuting an exclusive collection to celebrate the company's five-year anniversary. The capsule line, aptly named 5Y, features 25 pieces — including jewelry and dresses — designed by some major names in fashion. Naturally, you'll want to rent them all.

5Y Collection is currently available on renttherunway.com and includes designs by Christian Siriano, Lela Rose, Kenneth Jay Lane, Badgley Misckha, Monique Lhuillier, Marchesa Voyage, and the late Oscar de la Renta. The rental prices will range from $15 for Kenneth Jay Lane's "Pearl Brooch Bracelet" to $500 for Lela Rose's "Catch the Wave" dress. Rent the Runway co-founder and CEO, Jennifer Hyman, told WWD that the collection is more dramatic than the site's traditional offerings, adding:

The intention is to enable women to get out of their fashion comfort zone and try new brands and experiment with styles that push them. You shouldn’t be renting the little black dress. We want them all to be statement pieces.

And statement pieces they certainly are. Some standouts include the black and gold lace "Helena" dress by Badgley Mischka, the Oscar de la Renta "Blue Shadow" necklace, and a Marchesa Voyage jeweled jumpsuit. Consider your holiday wardrobe totally sorted.
