This Activewear Brand is Coming to J.Crew

by Erin Mayer

Activewear: it's not just for the gym anymore. Gone are the days of simple black yoga pants and ratty old t-shirts being good enough to work out in. Even Jenna Lyons is climbing on board with the chic workout gear trend. According to The Cut, J.Crew has begun to carry activewear brand Outdoor Voices, whose pieces are as cool as they are functional.

Although CEO Mickey Drexler has said the J.Crew would be skipping out on the activewear trend, it seems the brand has come around to offering some workout apparel after all. Granted, this isn't the in-house collection we would love to sport at Zumba class. But I would trust Jenna Lyons with my life, so if she gives a label the stamp of approval, I'm all in. And Outdoor Voices (cleverest name ever) seems totally deserving of a place in our closets.

Founded by Parsons graduate Tyler Haney, Outdoor Voices offers sleek, minimalist exercise clothes that actually look comfortable. The line was partially inspired by Haney's childhood in Colorado, where, she told The Cut, "being active is embedded into the lifestyle naturally." So, what does the wardrobe of a naturally active individual look like? Picture slouchy heather grey tank tops, aqua hoodies, and two-toned warmup leggings. Prices are comparable to Lululemon, but the pieces are ten times better IMO. I mean, just look at how chill the girl modeling the "Catch Me If You Can" sweatshirt on the brand's website is:

YOU COULD BE THAT CHILL!!! All you have to do is hit J.Crew with an open wallet. And that's something I'm always prepared to do.
