This Tiffany's Ad Is Way Too Cute

by Tess Yocom

‘Tis the season for everything and anything Christmas… including commercials. This year’s crop of ads have been KILLING it. We’ve seen just about everything, including Romeo Beckam dancing with a Burberry umbrella, a glammed up Anna Kendrick locked out of her apartment in Kate Spade’s spot, and Cara Delevingne being Delevingne for Topshop. Now, Tiffany & Co. has released their holiday commercial, and it fits right in with all the fun.

The famous jewelry brand released an 80-second animated ad that’s basically Frozen meets diamonds (aka they combined two of the greatest things in the world.) The story? Engagements, of course. With a 1960s Mad Men feel, the commercial shows couples celebrating the holiday season in New York City. They’re ice skating in Rockefeller Center and strolling through Central Park, which — let’s be honest — would be perfect spots for a proposal. Of course, the ad features plenty of jewels and shades of Tiffany blue.

My thoughts? Love it! It gets me in the holiday spirit without being over-the-top red and green. That seems to be a trend in this year’s holiday ads. Just compare it to last year’s Tiffany spot, which featured plenty of Christmas trees and bows. Sure, it makes my single self feel even more painfully single, but someday my prince will come, right?

Oh, Tiffany — thank you for further fueling my Pinterest-engagement-board fire.
