9 Ways to Economize Your Winter Wardrobe With Gym-to-Street Fashion

Recently, the paragon of workout wear, Lululemon, released a glittery explosion of a lookbook for its limited-edition holiday collection. Yes, I was blown away by the sheer number of sparkles dedicated to gym clothes; but I was also impressed by the versatility of the pieces. Most of these would look as at home on the dance floor as they would in yoga class.

It's more proof that the line between fashion and fitness is pretty much non-existent these days. Every brand is jumping on the activewear bandwagon, meaning we (the shoppers) have been treated to a slew of functional "fitness" pieces that double as Sunday brunch wear or even casual, office-appropriate duds. And, really, what could be better than that?

Ahead, find pieces that will help you expand your wardrobe this winter (and stay comfortable while you're at it!).

Alexander Wang x H&M

Is it a sports bra? Is it a crop top? Does it even matter? It’s part of Alexander Wang’s insanely popular line for H&M, so it would look gorgeous no matter how you wore. The only thing is, would you really want to sweat in it?

Theory

Earlier this year, Theory launched a new workout line, Theory+, for the label-loving gym-goer. This cut-out Radly shirt was a standout among the collection, and is made from breathable merino wool so you won’t sweat it up when you throw it on after the gym.

Onzie

Onzie’s scoop-back top is a dream for yoga class; it also happens to be a perfectly festive top for family get-togethers throughout the season (and, if the paisley is too much, it comes in navy and black as well).

Brooks

Believe it or not, Brooks’ PureProject Shelter Jacket is meant for running (it’s water- and wind-proof). But doesn’t the precisely tailored fit make it look like a nicely cut suit jacket you could wear out to holiday drinks with friend?

Michi

Wear this silky, fitted top with four-way stretch and moisture-wicking technology to the gym (you’ll never look at an old cotton tank the same way again), or tuck it into a skirt or jeans for a chic night-out look. No one will know the difference!

H&M

We’d like to suggest these gold kicks for going straight from the gym to holiday brunch, or vice versa. ‘Tis the season for a little extra shine, after all (and they’re a steal).

Athleta

These Crackle yoga tights would lighten up any practice, plus they’d make a statement all their own paired with a chunky winter sweater. Who doesn’t want a little more sparkle in their life this season?

SOLOW Style

Leggings with a sheer mesh tuxedo stripe? A little bit nice, a little bit naughty. You can totally dress these babies up post-workout.

Lululemon

That jacket: it would look perfect over an LBD for your office holiday party. The Core Set Bra (plus high-waisted jeans) was made for champagne toasts with your girls. And, those leggings would look just at home on the dance floor as in yoga class.
