Give Us This Braid!

I knew there would come a time when I'd regret chopping my hair to chin length, and the time has come.

Thanks to hair genius Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck, who coiffed the models at the Giles show in London on Monday, I'm wishing for the luxuriously thick locks bundled into this massive, textured braid. With the messy, windswept feel, it still manages to be sexy and pretty and good for keeping hair out of the face so as to better tackle the day. Score one for long-haired ladies, right?

Also a smart move: the kicks on the Giles models. If sneakers are now wholly acceptable with every outfit, I am an instant convert.

So what do you need on hand to recreate these plaits? Mascolo-Tarbuck used the snazzily named Resurrection Dust from Label M, basically a volumizing powder, which matte'd up the hair. After working with the newfound grit to braid it up, the height achieved at the crown was kept in place via the brand's Miracle Fibre (we're in London, chaps; that's how they spell fiber.)

Coupled — or rather, kicks included, tripled — with the fresh, simple, clean makeup that was meant to invoke the beauty of the '90s supermodel, Giles made one pretty awesome beauty and fashion look.
