Sam Smith Covers "A Merry Little Christmas"

Oh, man, that voice can make even the Scroogiest of people want to have a "merry little Christmas." Sam Smith's cover of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is just what the holiday music game needed to spice up the old-fashion (and don't get me wrong, I love the old-fashion) songs that we hear on radio stations 24/7. Smith's version of the song sounds as if it was written specifically for him. I don't know the correct musical terminology but the Mariah/ Christina "ahhh"s and "oooh"s at the end are as smooth as butter, but what else do you expect from him?

From the start of the song, where he begins a capella (I know that term, thanks Pitch Perfect) to when the piano ever so gently joins him for the remainder of the song, Smith's version of the song is absolutely gorgeous. The 22-year-old was recently nominated for six Grammys, including Album of the Year, which is the biggie of the night. He is up against some huge names for the award (like Beyonce and Pharrell), which is incredible considering he is also considered for the category of Best New Artist. Oh to be young and talented...

Catch Sam Smith's version of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" below, but go ahead and buy it on iTunes as well, since you will probably want to listen to it throughout the entire month of December at any given time.
