"Call Me Maybe 2.0" Is Coming Soon

by Alex Kritselis

Get excited: Interscope Record's "Play IGA" website just revealed that Carly Rae Jepsen's new single, "I Really Like You," is coming soon. SHUT UP. THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER. Well, in the interest of being totally, 100-percent honest with you, it just says that Jepsen's new single is coming in 2015. However, considering that we've already heard a number of the other songs that the website also lists as coming in 2015, I have to believe that it'll be here shortly. Woo hoo! These days, Jepsen is often dismissed as a "one-hit wonder" (which, like, read a book, she has two hits), but I'm kind of obsessed with her. How could I not be? "Call Me Maybe" sounds just as amazing now as it did when it first premiered stateside nearly three years ago. And Kiss! Oh, Kiss. Jepsen's sophomore album is without a doubt one of the best pop LPs released in recent memory. Yeah, it's that good.

Obviously, I'm kind of freaking out right now. And by "kind of," I mean that I'm absolutely freaking out right now. And with good reason! Queen Carly is preparing to bestow upon the world her next iconic hit. What a time to be alive.

These are the 14 emotional stages of discovering that Carly Rae Jepsen is releasing a new single:

"WAIT, WHAT?"

"Is this really happening?"

"Is this actually happening??"

"Oh, it's happening, alright. Oh my stars."

"I'M FEELING OVERWHELMED."

"MY HEART!"

"MY SOUL!"

"What if it sounds just as good as 'Call Me Maybe'?"

"I bet it'll sound just as good as 'Call Me Maybe.'"

"WHAT IF IT SOUNDS EVEN BETTER THAN 'CALL ME MAYBE'??"

"Whoa. That just blew my mind."

"The only thing that could possibly fix my brain now is a new single from Carly Rae Jepsen."

"WAIT, THAT'S WHAT'S HAPPENING!"

*DEAD*
