Give Someone Else a Chance, Jim Parsons

Jim Parsons takes home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for the third time. Wow those voters love them some Sheldon Cooper. Of course this is probably the only award that The Big Bang Theory will win tonight, and since Modern Family lost their two big categories, we might be done with the broad comedies already.

This award didn't have as many serious contenders as its Lead Actress counterpart, but it was probably still a difficult decision for Emmy voters. They had Alec Baldwin's last season as Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, the return of Jason Bateman and the beloved Arrested Development, comedic genius Louis C.K., two-time winner Matt LeBlanc playing a much funnier version of himself, and last year's winner Don Cheadle—but Sheldon took them all out.

It's a little disappointing to see Parsons take home yet another Emmy when C.K. has never won. Maybe he should start writing some Star Trek jokes into Louie. But Parsons seemed truly grateful to win, and his speech even made co-star Kaley Cuoco cry. So congratulations Parsons, but maybe give someone else a chance next year.
