What Should You Watch This New Year's Eve?

As a total advocate of staying in on New Year's Eve, I can fully sympathize with the struggle one goes through when attempting to decide what channel to turn on while you work on that bottle of wine to help ring in the New Year from the comfort of your own couch. There are a lot of choices! Apart from all the major networks like NBC, ABC, and Fox, you've also got cable networks like CNN and MTV airing specials — how's a person with varying interests to decide? I mean, I guess you could always channel surf, but that really gets in the way of wine time, and what if you miss an important celeb appearance, or musical performance?

Luckily for you all, I've got your back this year. To help Bustle's readers ring in 2015 the right way, I've composed a handy list to help you all decide what special to tune into tonight if you plan on staying in at the start of the year, categorized by what your personal pop culture interests may be. Like Taylor Swift? There's an option for that! Like Lady Gaga even better? There's an option for that too!

So, without further delay, let's get this party started...woo, 2015!

Watch NBC's New Years Eve With Carson Daly if you like Lady Gaga, still can't get Pharrell Williams' "Happy" out of your head, and miss the days when Carson Daly was hosting MTV's TRL.

With all this '90s/early '00s nostalgia in the air lately, I know I sometimes find myself missing the days of Carson Daly-hosted TRL every day after school. There's no shame in that! So, while TRL may be long over, there's at least this version of a Carson Daly-hosted program to help tide you over. Plus, with celebs like Chrissy Teigen, Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, Seth MacFarlane, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams all set to make appearances/perform, this one's bound to be a good time.

When to watch: 10 PM on NBC

Watch ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest if you like Taylor Swift, Ryan Seacrest, and would freak out as much as this girl did over tickets to a One Direction concert.

ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest is always a good choice, and manages to be solidly on point every year, so it's definitely a safe choice for a fun, pop culture-filled spectacle. This year's line-up includes a major performance from Taylor Swift in the middle of Times Square too — and you know you wanna shake off 2014 with Tay Tay. Also, look for performances from One Direction, Elton John, Iggy Azalea, Charli XCX, and Nick Jonas as well.

When to watch: 8 PM on ABC.

Watch CNN's New Year's Eve Live if you're a news junkie and think Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin should be best friends.

I feel like all I can really say to describe this particular special is in the form of this GIF, and this GIF only. Keep in mind: This is from the 2012 broadcast of the special, which featured Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin, who will also be hosting this year:

Yep, things might get a little crazy. (Apparently, Griffin intends on making Anderson Cooper cry this year!)

When to watch: 9 PM on CNN.

Watch Fox News' All-American New Year's Eve 2015 if you constantly wonder how female Fox News anchors have such perfect hair all the time.

I firmly believe that, on a day like today, if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't say anything at all — so I'm going to keep my mouth shut about Fox News, and focus on what to expect from this special! Expect Fox News fixtures Kimberly Guilfoyle, Bob Beckel, Jesse Watters, Anna Kooiman and Kennedy on hand to help ring in 2015 during this television event, which will be filmed in NYC's Times Square.

When to watch: 9 PM on Fox News.

Watch Fox's Pitbull's New Year's Revolution if you like Fifth Harmony, rock out to Pit Bull (of course), and being a trendsetter.

This year, Fox is trying something different with their NYE special, and airing a new yearly special called Pitbull's New Year's Revolution — which will, as the title suggests, be hosted by Pitbull. The party will be going down in Miami, so expect some crazy shenanigans, and look out for musical performances from some big names like Enrique Iglesias, Fifth Harmony, Fall Out Boy, The Band Perry, Becky G, and Pitbull himself.

When to watch: 8 PM on Fox.

Watch MTV's New Year's Eve 2015 if you like Victoria Justice, Charlamagne, and you're still waiting for the day that MTV will play real music again. (Maybe 2015 will be the year?)

(LOOK, IT COULD BE 2015, OK?)

But seriously: MTV always throws a good party, and I'm sure this year's New Year's Eve 2015 broadcast will be no different. Ring in the New Year with Victoria Justice and Guy Code's Charlamagne from the comfort of your own couch, which, as everyone knows, is the best way to ring in the new year. Also look for comedians from Girl Code and Guy Code giving rundowns of the moments that made 2014 totally special.

When to watch: 11 PM on MTV.
