Emma Stone Rocks Menswear Chic At The SAG Awards

by Katie Patton

Emma Stone had a fierce start to awards season when she traded in the traditional red carpet gown for a big bow embellished, glamorously bejeweled and black Lanvin jumpsuit at the 2015 Golden Globes, giving fancy pants a good name. It isn’t surprising, considering Stone tends to always be the breath of fresh, trendy, spot-on Young Hollywood air that sweeps through awards season like a welcomed hurricane. Stone did not disappoint tonight when she made her way down the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet in Dior Couture perfection.

While we have watched the Birdman actress acquire endless style accolades over the years for a strong, nearly unmatched red carpet game — enter her pink on pink Met Gala separates or her recent emerald green Valentino Couture tulle dream dress — her menswear inspired Dior is her freshest look to date. Nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, Stone blew non-traditional red carpet dressing out of the water in an all black ensemble that was part menswear on the top, part sheer Taylor Swift on the Victoria's Secret runway on the bottom. Quite simply, she couture killed it.

And that hair? A sleek wrapped ponytail was the perfect pairing for her modern Dior, simple yet chic while showcasing her epic red hue. To sum it up, she is honestly everything from head to toe. Stone’s SAG look couldn’t be more of a departure from her on-screen portrayal of Sam in Birdman, proving that she represents excellence in both film and fashion. Where is the award for that type of double-awesome? Witty and talented with an adored style, who isn’t rooting for Emma Stone to take home the trophy? Here’s hoping!
