Mercury The Two-Legged Cat Is Our New Hero

As formidable as cats can be, you'd be hard-pressed to find one so bold that it manages to conquer cities, brave endless tunnels and even battle against the dreaded nightmare that is a poof ball. But then again, not many cats are quite as remarkable as the two-legged cat Mercury, who is an inspiration to us all. Mercury, who lost his front two legs in an accident with a weed whacker (ugh, little baaaby), was taken in at five weeks old by the Community Cat Coalition of Edmond in Oklahoma, where they set their sights on finding him a new home. It just so happened that they also chronicled his many harrowing kitty-adventures before he found that home, and his adorable heroics will slay whatever productive thing you were planning to do today.

Mercury is a year-and-a-half old now, and living like a kitty boss with his new owners, who keep everyone updated on his life and times on his very own Facebook page. This kitty proves that there is no obstacle in your life you can't overcome, so think of him and the enthusiasm with which he Godzillas an entire town (yes, I just used that as a verb) the next time the remote control is too far across the room for you to fathom picking it up.

Here he is stomping an entire village:

And here he is conquering the great unknown:

Here he is unexpectedly trapped in a present-day version of the Star Trek episode "The Trouble With Tribbles":

And finally, here he is learning how to be swift on his kitty feet, even without two of his legs:

He is truly and inspiration to us all. MERCURY FOR PRESIDENT 2016.
