Rachel Antonoff Masters School-Girl Chic

by Eliza Florendo

Skipping class and sneaking off-campus, making out under the bleachers, ditching study halls, and blowing things up in Chemistry. Ah, memories of high school. If I were in a movie, of course. But a girl can dream. Rachel Antonoff's Fall/Winter 2015 New York Fashion Week was all about the fun, flirty school atmosphere, embodying the cool, badass babe I always wanted to emulate.

Set behind a school fair backdrop, models rocked plaid pleated skirts, disheveled button up dresses, and denim jumpsuits. Poster boards reading "Who Gave Me Mono" and "Solar System" in glittery font set the stage, with the oh-so-familiar school desks holding juicy fruit wrappers, Hi-Chew candies, and even a pile of chewed gum.

My favorite look? A burgundy sweater donning the female reproductive system paired with red and green plaid pants. Cool crew necks read "Phys Ed," a T-shirt emblazoned with "Seymour Pussy," baby blue polka dot dresses, and a shift dress with stitching shaped in lungs were just a few of the standout pieces.

Every last detail screamed high school—even the nail art. Models' nails were painted in stripes, petals, and even teeth with braces. Makeup was kept smoky and sexy, with a deep red lip and dark-lined eyes. And messy waves pulled the whole look together.

Rachel Antonoff has come up with the perfect concoction of a nerdy vixen, making science sexy. You know the Rachel Antonoff girl aced both Biology and Sex Ed. And she wasn't dating the quarterback of the football team. She was the quarterback in everything she did. I only wish I was this cool in the ninth grade. Or even to this day.
