Behold! Makeup Inspired By Plastic Surgery!

Runway makeup can get pretty gimmicky during fashion week. This season seems to be no exception, because the models walking in the Nina Athanasiou's Fall 2015 collection presentation appear to me made up like women who are straight out of the cosmetic surgery operating room. It's SOMETHING else.

The designer showed her fashion week collection on Friday, February 13th and the beauty choices were interesting to say the least. The models had their heads wrapped in gauze. Heavy contouring gave the models the taut look of overly botoxed Housewifes of Beverly Hills. It would appear that each model has a pair of silver stickers at her temples, which may be a reference to ECT (just throwing' spaghetti at the wall, guys). Hair-wise, the ladies were either rocking the lazy-girl straight 'do, or extensions were pasted conspicuously underneath their real hair.

I can't speak on behalf of the designer, but I'm guessing that the theme here — just judging from the makeup — is "Dystopian Dr. 90210." Perhaps, they've thrown in just a dash of antiquated psychiatric treatments for good measure. All I know is that the coven of models walking down the runway look like a coven of lady-drones, and the makeup definitely makes a serious statement.

Note, the exaggerated lips.

Those extensions don't match up to the model's natural hair color, but it's totally on purpose.
