Twizzlers Spilled All Over A Pennsylvania Highway

by Lauren Holter

All of our childhood dreams have come true: A candy truck overturned, spilling it's delicious contents for bystanders to devour. A tractor-trailer full of Twizzlers crashed outside of Pittsburgh Wednesday, spilling licorice all over the highway — a mess that could easily be cleaned by kids (ah, who am I kidding, and adults) selflessly willing to take some of the candy home.

Luckily no one was seriously hurt when the truck carrying packages of Twizzlers hit a barrier, likely due to fog in the area, splitting the trailer wide open. Thank god those babies were pre-packaged and not ruined by the spill. The highway was shut down for hours while crews cleaned the mess, and hopefully indulged in a few red ropes.

For food-lovers, having a truck full of a delicious treats spill right in front of you is the dream. Nothing could stop you from filling your purse (and let's face it, anything else with storage potential) with as much as possible. The Twizzlers spill has opened up a whole new world of free food possibilities. With that in mind, here are a few other food trucks we wish would spill on our daily route just as hunger strikes.

Krispy Kreme

A truck full of Krispy Kreme donuts spilling the fluffy pastries everywhere (still in boxes of course) on a morning you skipped breakfast would be a magical experience. No one could even judge you for scarfing down a whole box, because they would understand.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups would do great in a crash — they're already pre-packaged, so they wouldn't be ruined, they wouldn't break easily, and they come in personal portions, so bystanders could all take one (but honestly we would take about 50).

Oreos

Free packages of Oreos pouring all over the road would make anyone's day. If a milk truck also happened to crash right beside the Oreo truck, now that would just be a miracle. A miracle we're all hoping for.

Wine

Would wine survive a crash? If so, we're there. Boxed wine would probably fare better in a crash, and we'll take what we can get because it's still free wine after all.
