Lupita Nyong'o Stuns In 'Paris Match' Magazine

by Marc Cuenco

After making her Academy Awards debut in a custom-designed Prada gown that would make Cinderella swoon and then serving sea princess glamour in a pearl-encrusted Calvin Klein at this year's ceremony, Lupita Nyong'o is finally letting the world in on her little secret: she is Superwoman in real life. At least, that's what it looks like in these stunning photos of Nyong'o in Paris Match . The Oscar winner and the face of Lancôme wears head-to-toe red and her captivating signature smile for the French magazine.

Shot by fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski high above Times Square on the 36th floor of the InterContinental Hotel, Nyong'o is every bit as beautiful and regal as one imagines her to be. She effortlessly moves her dress in a way that makes it look like she's floating, yet her feet are planted firmly on the ground (in a fabulous pair of ankle strap heels, no less). And her skin? Perfection.

In her Paris Match interview, Nyong'o tells the magazine about how honored she is to be chosen as Lancôme's first black spokesperson, but also about the struggles that she faced growing up with dark skin. She credits another fashion goddess for inspiring her to rise above adversity and love herself for who she is.

"I am very happy to shake stereotypes," Nyong'o says. "When I was 15, I was influenced by Alek Wek, a top Sudanese model. I thought, 'If she can get on the podium, why not me?'"
