T. Swift Is Left With A Nasty Scar Once More

by Jodie Layne

How long does it take YouTube ads to generate $40 million? Well, Taylor Swift's cat Meredith Grey better do the math pretty quickly and get to making some cute cat videos to pay back her owner for her apparently very valuable legs! Addressing the rumors that the singer had her legs insured for $40 million in her own cheeky way, Swift posted an Instagram photo showing a huge cat scratch on her leg with the caption: "GREAT WORK MEREDITH I WAS JUST TRYING TO LOVE YOU AND NOW YOU OWE ME 40 MILLION DOLLARS." We didn't need another reason to love T. Swift, but taking her career seriously enough to make sure she's got her assets insured — but not too seriously that she can't make a little joke about it on IG — is a pretty good reason. And, you know, the fact that her cats are named after two of the greatest TV characters of all time — Meredith Grey from Grey's Anatomy and Olivia Benson from Law & Order: SVU — is equally swoon-worthy.

Now I'm just full of questions about what happens next in this cat-scratch saga: Will they take out a claim for "repairs" to the leg? Is there partial coverage available? What kind of deductible are we talking about here? Does the value of the legs go up or down after this incident? What are the cat labor laws in New York? What's the best way to cover a scratch with makeup? Is T. Swift going to wear midi dresses until it's healed? Who knew a cat could create such mental turmoil on a Sunday morning?!

I'll be over here waiting for Meredith to call me and let me know what's up. But one thing's for sure: T. Swift was probably legit left breathless and with a nasty scar this time around.
