Drunk Guy Encounters Big Drama Skateboarding Home

Every now and then, a magical YouTube video comes along that makes you say, before you even see the title, "Oh. This isn't going to end well." Everyone, meet Drunk Guy Riding a Skateboard. Drunk Guy, meet the Internet. Let's have some fun. It never ceases to amaze me what people think they are capable of when they're wasted: karaoke, darts, dancing, driving — basically, all kinds of things that are hard enough to do when you're sober, and are downright disasters in the making once you add booze. Skateboarding is a particular head-scratcher for me, due in no small part to the fact that skateboarding sober seems to require a lot of coordination. The video is only 14 seconds long, but in those 14 seconds, you very much get the impression that a lot is going on in drunk guy's mind as he attempts to leave the bar.

1 second in...

Okay, buddy. Nice and slow. You're doing great. Whoa! Leaning a little too far forward. Just lean back...

2 seconds in...

...that's...okay! That's a little too far back. Pump the breaks.

3 seconds in...

Pause. Take a minute. Remember who you are: You're cool. Free-spirited. You're the guy who rides a skateboard to a bar.

4 seconds in...

All right. Restarting. Do-over.

5 seconds in...

I've made a huge mistake.

6 seconds in...

Hello darkness my old friend/I've come to talk with you again...

7 to 10 seconds in...

"I'm free! I'm free! Whooooooooo!" - The Skateboard

11 seconds in...

The rest...is silence.

Honestly, that skateboard went flying so far and so fast that I sort of imagine it's sentient and there's a backstory there. Check out the video and maybe write one of your own.
