The New Drugstore Makeup Line You Need Now

by Jamie Cuccinelli

The founding former creative director of the deliciously lustrous cult favorite nail polish line Butter London is taking her colorful wares to a drugstore near you. Nonie Creme will debut her new nail enamel collection and makeup line called Colour Prevails at Walgreens and Duane Reade stores. And the less-than-20 bucks price point is bound to keep your wallet just as pretty as your newly painted digits.

Color does indeed prevail in Nonie's world, with her creation of enough luscious rainbow hues to make a freakin' unicorn jealous. With glossy nail lacquers, soft shades of ombre mascara, brilliantly vivid lipsticks, and shimmering eyeshadows, all of the color pigments pack a punch.

“This might be a new experience for some customers. It brings the experience prestige beauty shoppers have come to expect with the affordability and access of mass market," the expert color mixologist told Yahoo Beauty. But the most innovative part of her new collection is definitely the gorgeous packaging and expertly engineered handles on the polishes, liners, and shadows, dubbed "precision painters," that make for some pretty effortless application.

Those little miracle handles were invented when Nonie grabbed hunks of her daughter's Play-Doh and crafted what would soon become the prettiest packaging I've seen on any drugstore beauty product in a while.

Colour Prevails totes prices from $8 to $19. Eight bucks for some designer nail polish with seemingly endless color options? Here's betting that Walgreens is going to have some trouble keeping these babies on the shelves. Hurry up and nab these butterfly-adorned goodies at Walgreens/Duane Reade stores or on drugstore.com, before they all float away.
