Ryan Reynolds Awesomely Reveals 'Deadpool' Costume

by Loretta Donelan

Ryan Reynolds is very worried about embarrassing his new daughter James. He is already anticipating her eye-rolling teenaged years, and he avoided giving out her name for so long for that reason. Unfortunately, for their future relationship, Reynolds' other recent publicity has not been too successful in the non-embarrassment department. Reynolds revealed his costume for his new movie, Marvel's Deadpool, on Twitter in a way that can only be described as... sexual.

The picture he tweeted featured (presumably) Reynolds in the formfitting, red Deadpool costume, captioning it "with great power, comes great irresponsibility. #deadpool #officialsuit @deadpoolmovie." In the pic, he lounges on a bear rug before a cozy fire in a clear homage to Burt Reynolds (made clearer by the fact that Reynolds tweeted the inspiration minutes later). And for the record: they're not related.

Ryan Reynolds has certainly been excited about his Deadpool role, as it's been a long time coming. He's an unusual superhero; an anti-hero who will be aware he's in a movie during the film, according to Reynolds. Fans of the Deadpool comics are somewhat worried, especially considering the flop that was Green Lantern, but the Twitter response to the costume has, for the most part, been positive.

In promoting his film, Reynolds has basically done what any embarrassing dad might do (if every embarrassing dad was a movie star). He even followed up his embarrassing tweet with a bad joke: "No bears were harmed in the making of this photo. Though many bears likely turned on." Classic.

Not embarrassing his daughter would be a feat that would be impossible for any superhero, though. You can't fight the inevitable.
