Here's How To Dress Like Kalinda Sharma In +Sizes

by Jodie Layne

Arguably one of the most dynamic network dramas on TV right now (and in recent history, actually) is The Good Wife. With its serious feminist undertones and its plot lines that play off of (and sometimes even satirize) current events, it's about more than just what happens in a law firm. Throw in a brilliant, witty team of writers and a cast of three main characters who are all powerful, complex women, and it becomes pretty obvious why the show has garnered such acclaim and loyalty over its six seasons. It also stars one of the few characters on TV who's a queer person of color, but isn't on Glee or fitting of some kind of stereotype (cough, cough Kimmy Schmidt).

Although her involvement this season has been minimal as producers prepare to have her leave the show, private investigator Kalinda Sharma is absolutely invaluable to the plot and to all of the partners at fictional law firm of Lockhart and Gardner. She's basically the definition of badass, finding ways to get the information she needs and taking on drug dealers and members of the mafia on the regular. She puts misogynistic assholes in their place and places her professional ambitions above pretty much everything else.

Her wardrobe portrays her no-nonsense attitude and seductive femme fatale ways in a really cohesive manner: She's pretty much always wearing dark neutrals or jewel tones and her moto jacket collection is legendary. She doesn't have time for prints or bright colors, but doesn't mess around when it comes to tailoring or seeking out interesting details — she wears clean lines and clothes that fit her perfectly. You can also tell what tactics she's going to employ or what role she's going to play by her footwear: Either pointy black heels or knee-high boots. And when she's wearing a pointed, heeled, knee-high boot? Watch out, she's about to make things very hard for whoever's opposing her.

The body-hugging silhouettes and wide-calf boots might make dressing like Ms. Sharma seem like it's not for you, plus-size babes. But you couldn't be more wrong, and here's how to get her look:
