Cadbury Creme Egg Omelets Exist, Just FYI

Everybody knows that Cadbury Creme Eggs are elixir-filled chocolate nuggets of delicious perfection that come out once a year to resounding joy and applause from humans all over the world. What everybody may not know is that, with a few proper tools and a dash of ingenuity, these sugary sweet pieces of heaven can be whipped into — wait for it — Cadbury Creme Egg omelets. Let's all take a second to marvel at the universe and its many surprises, and then let's call this recipe exactly what it is: a total game changer.

We have the brilliant masterminds over at Food and Wine to thank for this mind-blowing Easter treat. With a little creativity and one very fancy gadget, the intrepid food scientists at FWx Labs managed to combine two of our favorite foods — chocolate eggs and, well, regular eggs — and created an Easter hybrid that, quite frankly, has left me momentarily speechless.

To be fair, the creation in question isn't so much an omelet as it is gooey creme center folded in on itself... but serve it up at Easter brunch and see if anyone complains. To create their masterpiece, FWx Labs used a PolyScience Anti-Griddle, which apparently chills or freezes your food in seconds, instead of melting it. Don't have one of these guys hanging around in your kitchen? Maybe it's not too late to ask the Easter bunny (or like, your parents) to bring one with him come Easter Sunday.

So how does this work? Here's the quick and easy breakdown:

1. Crack open your egg

2. Scoop out the filling

3. Pour it on your magic anti-griddle, sprinkle with chocolate shavings, and fold over one side

4. Serve with a Peep, because duh

Devour, and repeat. (No seriously, this last part is crucial.)

See? I told you it was amazing. Check out Food and Wine for the full tutorial, and then, go out and conquer the world, one Cadbury Creme Egg omelet at a time. And if you're feeling really ambitious (you kitchen wizard, you), try adding these chocolatey gems to all your favorite dishes. As it turns out, the world is full of wild and crazy Cadbury Creme Egg recipes — go ahead and try them all.
