Mila Kunis Did Not Steal A Chicken, OK?

by Kadeen Griffiths

The catastrophic chicken caper is the mystery that just keeps on thickening. On Wednesday, those of us who adore the voice behind Meg Griffin and the face behind Jackie Burkhart were shocked and appalled to hear that Mila Kunis had allegedly stolen a woman's chicken back in the Ukraine a quarter century ago. Considering the woman is suing Kunis for $5,000 over the incident, you would be forgiven for thinking the chicken lays golden eggs or something. However, Kunis denies that she stole that chicken in a video call with TMZ, supported by Ashton Kutcher as he explains the sheer insanity of the case against her.

"Let's just get this clear. You stole a chicken from a one-month-old child who spoke to you in an entire conversation? It's shocking to me that news organizations, real journalists out there that have fact-checked this story didn't pick up on the fact that this girl was one month old and having a conversation with you from Ukraine," said Kutcher of Kristina Karo, the childhood friend of Kunis who is suing her for the reportedly stolen chicken.

Although Karo claimed that it is the fact that she is pursuing a singing career, and thus so close to Kunis in Los Angeles that she has had to return to therapy over the chicken incident, that is spurring her to bring forth this lawsuit after 25 years, Kunis has a different theory. "I would like to launch a counter $5,000 lawsuit for making me watch that music video. My body hurts. My eyes hurt. They're burning," she said.

Despite the jokes that she and Kutcher lobbed back and forth in the video, Kunis did take the time to apologize for the incident that she claims never occurred. She also pointed out that she allegedly has yet to receive legal papers concerning this lawsuit. Of course, just because she hasn't received them yet doesn't mean that the papers aren't coming, and that Kunis won't "get served" more than just "emotionally." Whether Karo is bringing this incident to light now in order to promote her music video, as Kunis and Kutcher claim, or whether she has emotional damage over the incident that still lingers almost 30 years later, as she claims, still remains to be seen.

Either way, Kunis and Kutcher don't seem to be overly concerned about all of this. Bustle has reached out to Kristina Karo, and we received this as a response: "At this time we have no further comment. As Kristina wrote on Twitter, she is very hurt by this."
