Taylor Swift Gives The World #CareerGoals Again

by Jaclyn Anglis

Being Taylor Swift seems like a pretty smooth ride — at least according to Taylor Swift. While many a celebrity has complained about the perils that come along with being famous over the years (lack of privacy, working long hours, needing to look flawless at all times), Swift is not in that same boat. In fact, Taylor Swift said being a pop star is "not that hard" in a new interview with BBC Radio.

Of course, some fans may be skeptical of that statement. After all, this is coming from a woman who has won seven Grammy awards in her teens and early twenties. She has to make public appearances on a regular basis, from concerts to red carpet events to meet-ups with fans. Plus, she always puts forth the extra effort to look picture-perfect at all times, even when she is going to and from the gym. Certainly all of this could not be an entirely easy feat, right? Well, it has often been said that if you find a job you truly love, then you never have to work a day in your life. Since Swift does not find her job of being an international pop sensation and developing cultural icon hard work, then perhaps she has simply reached her ultimate career goal. And luckily for her fans, this can serve as an inspiration for them to reach for theirs, as well.

It also helps that while the 25-year-old may feel like her work is not that hard, she did say in the same interview that going on an international tour helps her feel more productive, and that is why she considers it one of the best parts of her job. She said,

When you walk off stage and you're drenched in sweat and you're tired and your legs hurt... It feels like you're really working for the job. It's nice to feel tired after a show. I'm like "Oh my God, I'm finally doing something." I really like the feeling of: "You know what? I've been busy. I deserve this watching two hours of TV at the end of the night."

It's great that she brought this point up, because it shows that she feels her best when she is challenging herself. While most of us will likely not face the exact same type of challenge in our own careers, it's good to keep in mind that pushing yourself further can only be a positive thing. After all, you can't move forward otherwise.
