Florence Welch's Outfit Slays At Governor's Ball

by Christie Drozdowski

The gorgeous U.K. songstress who just dropped her latest album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, in the states last Tuesday, performed at the 2015 Governor's Ball Music Festival on Friday evening in none other than top-notch Florence Welch at Governor's Ball-appropriate fashion — slaying the audience with not only her fiery, fierce voice, but also her enviable vintage look. The hit singer has been known for quite some time now for rocking her signature hippie style, and it continues to be a go-to that she owns in the most brilliant of ways.

Her outfit at Friday's performance was simple yet captivating, with a white, flowing, and breathable peasant top, a pair of what appears to be fitted, polyester, burgundy pants with a slight bell bottom, and accented with gold jewelry — a long pendant necklace, a bracelet with a cross charm, and plenty of rings adorning her fingers. Her hair was styled as per usual, with her golden-fire locks flowing down her back long and loose.

Notably missing from her ensemble? Shoes. The bare-footed singer kept things down to earth and grounded even as she jumped and paced wildly while taking center stage. Welch has been nursing a broken ankle since her Coachella performance in the spring, so it seems she's better off without shoes anyway.

The 28-year-old musician hasn't spoken out much about her performance on social media or otherwise, only posting a photo of Janis Joplin's second album cover Pearl on Instagram yesterday (how very Florence of her), but the top she wore on Friday does appear to be one of her faves, considering that two weeks ago she 'grammed the following pic:

The woman is such a goddess, combining that peasant top with a fringed suede vest. I'm inspired every time I see Florence Welch in her stunning garments, and it's pretty apparent that she's become so much more than a singer — she'll go down as a true artist and a fashion inspiration of our times.
