Mindy Kaling is a queen, a goddess, and a BAMF! While stars receive criticism for their looks on the regular and handle this commentary with grace, there are moments when it can cross the line, and that's exactly what happened with Kaling this week. Blog GossipGirl wrote a scathing overview of the star's fashion calling it a "hot mess." Well, Kaling responded to GossipGirl in the best way possible after they raked The Mindy Project star's style over the coals.
In case you missed it, Kaling seems to have had a simultaneously stressful yet awesome couple of weeks. First, The Mindy Project was canceled leading to mass outcry and rage. However, just a few weeks later, Hulu made all of our dreams come true when they picked up the series. Not to mention, the talented actress and writer has been busy promoting her most recent project, Inside Out. Most recently she was in Cannes to promote the film and looked absolutely gorgeous in a bright, jewel toned gown designed for her by costume designer Salvador Perez— who is hella talented btw.
Kaling's dress at the film festival makes GossipGirl's comments all the more unfathomable outside of their already rude, unnecessarily harsh tone. Alongside referring to the star's style as a hot mess, they also said Kaling was a "woman of the people types who basics find soooooo hilars." Well, eff you, GossipGirl. Kaling sent out a tweet that read, "whoa, u guys are dicks" in response to the piece, and we couldn't agree more. After all, there's no better way to silence the haters than telling the damn truth.
