Weird Thoughts All Couples Have At Weddings

by Kat George

I haven't yet been to a wedding with my significant other but we have two coming up. Most of my current thoughts are important things like, "What should I wear to a wedding?" But I imagine once I've gotten all teary over love and marriage, my thoughts will be more like WHAT WILL I WEAR WHEN HE PROPOSES? because yes I am a feminist but also I am a fucking sap when it comes to anything to do with my boyfriend professing his love for me because I am weak and easy, okay? Buzzfeed have made a video of thoughts all couples have at weddings, and I'm using it in preparation of my future nuptial attendance with my S.O. If nothing else, the video is pretty hilarious.

As it turns out, people have a lot of inner mental anxiety at weddings. And pretty funny observational thoughts. And then some really, really adorable moments. Every wedding I've been to my thought process has gone from, "Will anyone ever love me this much?!?!?!?!?!?!" (generally during the ceremony) to, "I wonder if I can still lead an impromptu Macarena after my eighth drink," (reception) to "Why are all the single people here me and a bunch of 5'2" dudes?" (after party). Here are some highlights from Buzzfeed's great couples wedding thoughts:

1. Uncertainty

2. Surprisingly emotional

3. Agression

4. Relenting to the fun

5. And finally giving in to the wedding industrial complex (YOU CAN'T FIGHT IT)
