Louis Tomlinson Joked About Being A Dad In 2012

by Alex Kritselis

One Direction fans were flabbergasted on Tuesday when they found out band member Louis Tomlinson is allegedly going to be a father. According to People, the 23-year-old singer might be expecting his first child with Briana Jungwirth, a stylist he "met through mutual friends earlier this year." (Bustle has reached out to Tomlinson’s reps for comment, but has not yet heard back.) Whoa. Congratulations, guys! Now, there are two very important pieces of information about this 1D baby situation you must know: first of all, apparently, Jungwirth isn't much of a One Direction fan. This is, in a word, shocking. Second of all, Louis Tomlinson joked about being a dad on April Fools' Day in 2012 (and presumably laughed and laughed when many poor saps believed he was telling the truth). Yup, that happened. Soon, the Internet will be buzzing: Did Tomlinson predict he'd become a father? Is he a psychic??

The answer to both of those questions is... no, of course not. Don't be daft.

Yes, Tomlinson's three-year-old April Fools' Day tweet does kind of seem prophetic at first, but everybody knows Theresa Caputo — star of TLC's hit reality series, Long Island Medium is the only real practicing psychic out there in the world today. That's just a fact!

Tomlinson is a super talented fellow, sure, but he's no clairvoyant. Accept it and move on.

OK, OK, I was just kidding around about that whole Theresa Caputo thing, but seriously — Tomlinson doesn't have psychic powers. He's not Jean Grey — he's just a young man. A young man who we may or may not be able to start calling "Pops" in "early" 2016 (which is when the bundle of joy is reportedly set to arrive). I'm looking forward to that.

Stay tuned.
