How Is Amy Schumer Celebrating Her Emmy Nom?

by Orli Matlow

It's an exciting day, of an exciting week, of an exciting month, of an exciting YEAR for Amy Schumer. On Thursday, Schumer was nominated an Emmy award in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category, while her show, Inside Amy Schumer, received an Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series nomination, an Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series nomination, and an Outstanding Sketch Variety Series nomination. The good news will keep on coming for Schumer this week, too: Friday marks the release of Trainwreck , which she wrote and stars in.

These Emmy nominations are an extremely well-deserved, long overdue honor for Schumer and the show as a while. As the series does everything from challenging gender stereotypes to challenging those who challenge feminism, it's about time Inside Amy Schumer was recognized at the Emmys — especially as its already been awarded the prestigious Peabody Award "for offering this smart, inquisitive, irreverent, and important brand of culturally aware humor."

Like her fans and fellow nominees, Schumer took to Twitter to celebrate. In response to her well-deserved nominations, the comedienne and actress tweeted out a photo depicting just how she's celebrating, which features her with a six-pack of beer and a variety of foods. In other words, she celebrated her Emmy nom with actual noms, like pizza, miso soup, and a box of something titled "x tra meat." (Whatever that is, I'm here for it.)

It's also nice to note her shout-outs to fellow nominee Paul Giamatti, the fact that she recognized the nominations about the directing and writing team on her show more than she did her own nomination.

Congratulations, Schumer!
