Sad News For Rita Ora

2015 has been a pretty good year for "Black Widow" singer Rita Ora this year. The British pop star seemed to be bouncing back from her rough 2014 breakup with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris pretty nicely, despite his new romance with Taylor Swift; she found a new boyfriend in designer Tommy Hilfiger's son; she appeared in the 50 Shades of Grey movie; and "Black Widow," which she sang with Iggy Azalea, was a huge hit. Unfortunately, Ora and that beau, Ricky Hil, have broken up after a year together.

But hey, being single isn't the end of the world. If a relationship isn't working, it's not working and there's no shame in calling it quits. According to E! News, Ora and Hil's split was a “mutual decision." The couple began dating last summer after Ora broke up with Harris. According to the New York Post's Page Six, Hil and Ora began growing closer last year when they began making music together (the hip-hop artist and rapper uses the shortened version of his famous last name as his stage name). In January, the Daily Mail reported that the couple had moved in together.

Sadly, the bliss didn't last. Perhaps the blame can be on their musical collaboration. Last year, Ora made a very catchy single with Calvin Harris called, "I Will Never Let You Down," but soon after the song was released, the relationship between the Brit and the DJ broke down, according to an interview in this month's Marie Claire.

"I thought he had my back and that he'd never steer me wrong," Ora told the magazine. "But then 'I Will Never Let You Down' came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don't know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what."

Ora and Hil have not yet released any of their creations together, but that doesn't mean the pain isn't real. Sending good wishes to the singer, and here's hoping that this breakup at least inspires her to make some great new music. I don't doubt that it won't be long before the star bounces back and stop the news from tarnishing what's already been an incredible 2015.
