Kate Hudson & Michael Kors Aim To End Hunger

by Melanie Richtman

As if the man wasn't busy enough, Michael Kors has added ending world hunger to his goals. The newly appointed United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Global Ambassador Against Hunger has been recognized for his philanthropic efforts to help feed children in need ever since he started Watch Hunger Stop in 2013 in with the WHP. Since its inception, the WHP has donated over 10 million meals and now Kors is back at it again, but this time, Kors is partnering with longtime friend Kate Hudson to help raise awareness for the campaign.

Kors and Hudson, who have been friends for years, even attending the Met Gala together this year, are encouraging Michael Kors fans to purchase two of Michael Kors' limited edition versions of the Bradshaw watch, the sales of which will go towards providing food to children in need around the world. The watches will will be available in October, and shoppers will be able to donate directly to the Watch Hunger Stop campaign at the register.

"As a mother, I can’t think of anything more important than raising a healthy and educated generation of children, and WFP’s School Meals Program is committed to exactly that," explains Hudson. "This is a cause that I’m eager to be a part of because I believe we can all make a real and significant difference."

The 2014 campaign for WHP encouraged fans to Instagram a "selfless selfie" while wearing the foundation's t-shirt, and each time someone shared a pic, Kors would donate 100 meals.

Wonder if they'll do a similar initiative this year, because we all know we'd love to see a Kate Hudson selfie.
