The Kansas City Chiefs are returning to the Super Bowl this year, which means quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, are too. But this time, Brittany will likely be joined by Taylor Swift, who’s expected to attend to support her boyfriend, the team’s tight end Travis Kelce.

Swift bonded quickly with Brittany, who isn’t only an NFL wife but an athlete in her own right.

Brittany played soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. After graduating college in 2017, she signed a contract with Icelandic soccer team UMF Afturelding/Fram, with whom she played for six months.

While Brittany is no longer playing on the field, she’s still managed to pursue a career in athletics. She is a founder and co-owner of the Kansas City Current women's soccer team. She’s also a certified fitness trainer and offers online training programs through her company, Brittany Lynne Fitness.

But throughout her journey, she and her husband have supported each other as they grew from aspiring players to professional athletes. Here’s everything to know about the Mahomes’ relationship, from being high school sweethearts to raising a family of four.

When Mahomes and his teammates received their Super Bowl rings after their first win in 2020, the quarterback proposed to Brittany with an engagement ring at the Chiefs’ home base, Arrowhead Stadium.

She later shared engagement photos on Instagram, showing the two surrounded by an assortment of white and red flowers. “On a day that was meant to celebrate you, you turned it into celebrating us,” she wrote. “It’s always us, it’s always you and me. The words you looked into my eyes and said to me at this moment, will NEVER leave my mind!”

Brittany welcomed their daughter, Sterling Skye, on Feb. 20, sharing a photo of her and Mahomes holding hands with their newborn. On her Instagram, she also revealed that the baby’s birth weight was 6 pounds, 11 ounces.
