Letter From The Editor

It’s official: summer is back, baby. The return of sunny days, high temps, and late sunsets also brings a whole slew of events and activities. You don’t have to wait for that one friend (OK, acquintance) to invite you to their beach house to get your summer social fix this month. “Your Month IRL,” Bustle’s monthly calendar of in-person events, has you covered.

Local events are where it’s at this June. Catch a World Cup match in San Francisco, or a movie night under the stars and skyscrapers of Chicago. Live music is also having it’s moment, with festivals like Gov Ball and Bonnaroo bringing performances you definitely want to catch before they hit your FYP. Plus, no matter where you are, you can enjoy a Pride parade, Juneteenth celebration, or of course, Love Island: USA Season 8. Who even needs a Hamptons house, anyways?

The Calendar

Some dates and details to keep in mind, regardless of which city you call home.

June 1 - June 30

Pride Month 2026 means the celebrations keep on coming, all June long. Start early with Dallas Pride on June 6, continue on to the Los Angeles parade on the 14th, and close out the month on the 28th with Chicago’s celebration. No matter where you are across the country, there’s a party to be had!

June 2

A hot new bombshell is entering your weekly streaming lineup. Season 8 of Love Island: USA kicks off on June 2, and it’s practically guaranteed to bring dangerous levels of drama to your screen. Head to a watch party at your local bar, or get the gang together for a premiere night-in. Either way, you’ll want to watch it live, before the spoilers inevitably hit TikTok.

June 3

So, get this, turns out there’s a men’s basketball league, and their playoffs start on June 3! The New York Knicks will face off against the San Antonio Spurs in the fight for the championship title — and no matter which team prevails, the promises of Timothée Chalamet in the stands is enough for me to stop by a sports bar for a drink or two.

June 4

If you like your concerts to double as modern art, you better book your ticket to Rosalía’s Lux tour, like, yesterday. She starts the month off with two nights at the Kaseya Center in Miami on the 4th and 6th, before continuing on to Orlando, Boston, New York City, Chicago, Houston, and Las Vegas. This is a show — no, a performance — you don’t want to miss.

June 11-14

It’s peak festival season, and this summer, Bonnaroo is the place to be. Whether you attend just one fun-filled day, or camp out for the entire long weekend, you’re guaranteed a killer lineup with headlining sets from The Strokes, Rüfüs Du Sol, Noah Kahan, and Kesha. Get your tickets now before the price increases.

June 19

This (and every) June, celebrate Black American freedom. Juneteenth might technically fall on Friday the 19th, but festivities are taking place across the country, all month long. Houston’s 19 Days of Juneteenth kicks off on the 1st, while New York, Chicago, and Atlanta all celebrate the day of. Meanwhile, Dallas and Washington DC host events throughout the month.
