Letter From The Editor

The clocks might turn back an hour on Nov. 1, but that doesn’t mean your social life has to reverse its trajectory, too. Once Halloween is over, Daylights Savings ends, and that extra hour of sleep hits, you might feel tempted to crawl under your covers and never come out. But there’s so much more fun to be had in November — just look at this month’s edition of Your Month IRL.

Don’t fear: Bustle’s monthly events calendar is here to keep things light, even when the sun sets much, much earlier than you’d like it to. From food and comedy festivals, to concerts and F1 races, there’s still so much to get out there and do. Grab your besties, and leave your slippers and your light therapy box at home. It’s time to hit the town.

The Calendar

Some dates and details to keep in mind, regardless of which city you call home.

November 1 - 8

Calling all foodies! The San Diego Food & Wine Fest is the place to be. This is more than just your average street fair (no shade, those rock as well). The week-long festival features a variety of ticketed events at various price points, and a lineup of iconic chefs, sommeliers, and restauranteurs, including Michelin and James Beard honorees. Secure your seat at the table here.

November 5 - 12

Whether you’re a solo stargazer, or looking for a romantic evening under the open sky, the Taurid meteor showers are a perfect excuse to grab your coziest sweater and head outdoors this November. The Southern Taurids peak on Nov. 5, while the Northern Taurids will be at their best on the 12th. For optimal viewing, head out around midnight, when the Taurus constellation is high in the sky. Then, make a wish — or several.

November 6 - 15

New York City is the place to be for comedy fans — and even more so during the New York Comedy Festival. Over the course of 10 days, the festival brings together over 200 comedians in over 100 shows for countless laughs. Catch Ilana Glazer live at the Beacon Theater, a performance featuring comedy powerhouses Patti Harrison and SNL’s Sarah Sherman, Dave Mizzoni and Las Culturistas’ Matt Rogers’ hilarious Gayme Show! and more.

November 19 - 21

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is the place to be this November, whether you’re a serious F1 fan, or just looking for a reason to visit Vegas (as if you needed an excuse). The race circuit winds its way around the city, and part of it even takes place on the famous Las Vegas Strip, sending cars speeding past iconic landmarks like Caesars Palace, the Bellagio, and the Venetian. Get your tickets now, and your F1 WAG inspired-IG pics later.

November 20

I VOLUNTEER... to be first in the theater to watch The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping the moment it premiers. The highly-anticipated prequel starring Joseph Zada as a young Haymitch (and apparently also featuring cameos from the OG cast, per J. Law herself) will be a tough ticket to get, so check your theater listings ASAP.

November 24

Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars will hold its grand finale on Tuesday, Nov. 24 — and you better be seated, locked in, and ready to text the name of your winner to 21523. Get your usual crew together to tune in at home, or hit up your local watch party. Either option deserves a 10 in my book.
