'Gilmore Girls' Episodes To Watch When It’s Too Hot To Go Outside

Saeed Adyani/Netflix

As great as summer may be, there is a downside: It can get way too hot outside. But instead of letting the heat get you down, this could be the ideal opportunity to stay inside with A/C and your TV. In fact, there are several Gilmore Girls episodes to watch when you don't want to go outside. So, why not Netflix and chill with Lorelai, Rory, and the rest of the Stars Hollow crew?

Being that the Gilmore girls were all about the seasons, this list of episodes will focus on the cooler moments and months, filled with first snows, Björk snowmen, and Renaissance weddings complete with men in tights. On first glance, those things may seem unrelated, but this is Stars Hollow after all — one of the most unique fictional towns to ever exist. And don't worry, the only heat on this list is coming from those fire Emily Gilmore comebacks and her shade is bound to give you some sweet relief from any heat wave, almost like a cooling aloe.

The best part is, you don't have to leave the comfort of your home where you hopefully have air-conditioning, or at least an oscillating fan, going strong to keep you calm, cool, and collected while these ladies try to figure out their lives. So grab a cup of coffee, coffee, coffee — iced, of course — and get ready to feel a whole lot cooler.

1

"Kiss & Tell" Season 1, Episode 7

Rory gets her first kiss and commits her first crime after stealing a box of corn starch. Sure, it's hot outside and you're looking for a way to cool down, but this episode shows how Rory totally didn't play it cool when she first started dating Dean. C'mon, that mother-daughter-crush movie party starts out pretty cringeworthy, but by the end, Rory's starting to get the hang of this whole dating thing.

2

"Rory's Dance" Season 1, Episode 9

There's a chill in the air, and it's not just because Rory is heading to a winter dance on a snowy night. No, that would be the icy send-off Lorelai gives Emily, who'd just accused her of being a bad mom.

3

"Love, Daisies & Troubadours" Season 1, Episode 21

Love is in the air in the Season 1 finale, and it smells like a thousand yellow daisies. Rory and Lorelai finally let their guys know how they feel. And you're going to love it, you idiot.

4

"The Bracebridge Dinner" Season 2, Episode 10

Sledding through the snow would definitely feel wonderful right now, especially with Milo Ventimiglia by your side. A girl can dream of finding a guy who knows the importance of Björk snow-women, right?

5

"Lorelai’s Graduation Day" Season 2, Episode 21

While it's not one of Rory's shining moments, missing her mom's graduation and all, this episode is a sweet look at Rory and Jess' relationship when she escapes to New York. It'll be your perfect escape from the blistering heat.

6

"A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving" Season 3, Episode 9

Remember fall? This one will have you counting down the days until Thanksgiving. Since it's going to be a while, you may want to follow Sookie's lead and make yourself a margarita (or 10) to help you get through the wait.

7

"Last Week’s Fights, This Week’s Tights" Season 4, Episode 21

I can't argue with TJ that breathable tights are a very good thing, especially if they can somehow keep you cool in the warmer months. But what's even better is seeing Luke and Lorelai share a slow dance. Seriously, try not to smile all the way through.

8

"Raincoats & Recipes" Season 4, Episode 22

After the ending of the episode before, there's no way you can skip this one, where you get that Luke and Lorelai kiss you've been waiting for. Finally, they just stood still, which is also good advice in record-setting heat.

9

"Women of Questionable Morals" Season 5, Episode 11

This episode is great because there's nothing like having someone build you an ice-skating rink in your own front yard. Even if you don't deserve it and in this case, Lorelai definitely doesn't.

10

"You Jump, I Jump, Jack" Season 5, Episode 7

Just like Rory, you may find yourself wanting to jump into Logan Huntzberger's world — one that is filled with perfectly fitted gowns, highfalutin word games, and death-defying falls. Suggestion: You should probably refrain from stealing any yachts. No matter how hot it gets outside.

11

"They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They?" Season 3, Episode 7

Yes, the Gilmores get a little sweaty in this episode, but you can rest assured that it's them doing all the dancing, not you. I'm sorry to say I can't make any promises that you won't be crying by the end of this episode right along with Rory.

12

"Those Are Strings, Pinocchio" Season 3, Episode 22

Because you deserve to cry a few tears of joy, you should watch Rory dedicate her valedictorian speech to her mom. It even brings Luke to tears, and if you don't shed one, as Luke says, there's basically something wrong with you.

13

"Pulp Friction" Season 5, Episode 17

When it's too hot to leave the house, live vicariously through Rory, who in this episode attends a very cool Quentin Tarantino-themed party. Also, Rory deserves points for reusing her Chilton uniform to dress up as Kill Bill's Gogo Yubari. Try and focus on that to keep your blood from boiling when Logan is being a total jerk.

14

"A House Is Not A Home" Season 5, Episode 22

Sure, the heat can be bad, but you know what's worse? Going to jail for stealing a yacht. Never forget that.

15

"Bon Voyage" Season 7, Episode 22

A little rain couldn't keep Stars Hollow from saying goodbye to Rory, but it would feel pretty nice right now. Even nicer is how much work Luke put into making sure Rory's party went down without a hitch. Who knew he could sew?

16

"Fall" 'A Year In The Life, Episode 4

Whether you loved the final four words or not, it was nice to see Luke and Lorelai finally get their happy ending. Right now, you'd also probably love to be Emily right by the water enjoying that cool breeze.

Alas, it's still the lazy hazy days of summer, but for a few hours you can chill out with the coolest Gilmore Girls episodes.
