Amazon's New Meal Kits Are Available In Select Areas

These days it seems like everything and anything you could possibly want is on Amazon in some shape or form. Shopping in-store has become a thing of the past, to the point where even groceries can be delivered at your door step. And now when you are feeling a little lazy you can order meal kits from Amazon. Yes, now, you can absolutely have it all using your Amazon Prime account.

With this new rollout, Amazon might just give food subscriptions like Blue Apron, HelloFresh, and Sun Basket a run for their money. Amazon has been known to interrupt the market with its efficiency and varieties of options; according to Business Insider, the digital marketplace recently filed a trademark application for "prepared food kits" that will take a bite out of their competitors, and now we're looking at the results of it.

After gearing up to buy the Whole Foods grocery chain, it was left to the imagination what they would do next to shake things up. Just when you thought the Amazon empire couldn't get any bigger, these meal kits could be a game changer for the thousands of Amazon users shopping, watching and now eating their products.

Prime members in certain where testing has begun have the ability to choose from 17 different meal options, according to Tech Crunch. Members will get a taste of dishes like Taco Al Pastor, Steak Au Poivre, Wagyu Beef Burger with Bacon Jam and Sweet Potato Fries, and other tasty additions. As of right now, it appears the options only are available in Seattle, where Amazon headquarters are based.

But before all of us hop on Amazon to try these new meal kits out, this is just the testing phase. So logging on having it available in certain parts of the U.S. is still "TBD" at the moment. If you live in an area being tested and are an Amazon Fresh user, you might just be in luck! Note: the meals only are available to people with Amazon Fresh subscriptions at $14.99 a month, who already have Prime membership at $10.99 a month. So until we get the green light, you can settle for it being a convenient option in the future.
