As host of the 2017 VMAs, Katy Perry held our attention as she tossed off zingers and rocked several ensembles, all paired with her striking, platinum pixie. The singer also slayed the monochromatic makeup trend on the red carpet. Now, you can easily recreate Katy Perry's pink 2017 VMAs makeup look with drugstore products. You won't break the bank playing with this trend and it won't be too much pink either, since the look includes shimmer, mega lashes, and some dark rimming of the eyes.

Pink eye makeup has been a thing for a minute, with Selena Gomez crushing pink eyeshadow at the 2017 Met Gala. While Gomez opted for Marc Jacobs Beauty products for her look, Perry's monochromatic pink look, which included her cheeks and her lips, was crafted with CoverGirl products.

That makes total sense, as she is a spokesperson for the brand and even created her own products as part of the partnership, including Katy Kat Matte lippies.

Perry's glam squad and the CoverGirl official Instagram provided a list of the exact products used to give the singer a pretty in pink glow as she ran the VMAs show.

First, let's admire Perry's 2017 VMAs beauty style. Her super short 'do allowed her eyes and lips to be focus features, too.

The key here was mixing shades of pink on different features.

You can kopy Katy's look feature-for-feature, or you can play around with how you use these products for an "inspired by" look that is a bit more customized to your personal style.

That's the true power and artistry of makeup — you can get creative and make it your own, all the while culling influence from a celeb.
