Here to make everyone's holiday season just a little bit brighter is Liam Payne, a gift to this earth under normal circumstances — but particularly after this most generous act of kindness. According to Yahoo UK, Payne sent hundreds of presents to his hometown hospital in Wolverton, England. To make the moment even sweeter, Payne specifically sent them to the children's ward.

The NHS Trust coordinator, Leanne Bood, revealed how the gifts were delivered to New Cross Hospital.

"I got a call from someone who works with Liam asking if it was okay for the gifts to be delivered. Of course I was delighted to and we set about arranging it," she told Yahoo. "We just want to say a huge thank you to Liam for this wonderful gesture and also to everyone who has helped the Charity this past year."

According to Yahoo, a spokesperson from the hospital revealed that the former One Direction singer provided handwritten cards with the gifts, and though he has not visited the hospital yet himself, they plan to invite him to visit.

"He has not visited himself but I know the invitation for him is going out in the new year," the hospital said in a statement. "The nurses on the ward estimate there are a few hundred presents. They don’t know what they are yet because they’re all wrapped and they’re keeping them for Christmas Day, all they know is they are a range of gifts for boys and girls aged 0 to 18."

Payne, who is reportedly expecting a baby with girlfriend Cheryl in 2017, will undoubtedly make hundreds of young patients' Christmases this year. It's this kind of generous donation — along with handwritten cards — that are truly what the holiday spirit (and the holiday season) is all about.
