Bustle's Editors On Barcelona + Star Wars

by Rachel Simon

What a day it's been. The news today was quite a mix, to say the least, from the tragic (the deadly Barcelona attack) to the entertaining (that huge Star Wars movie announcement). If you're still processing it all, you're not alone, and we're here to break it down for you. Starting with...

Barcelona + What We Know

On Thursday, 12 people died and over 80 more were injured in a horrific terrorist attack in Barcelona. A van rammed into a large crowd in the city's famous Las Ramblas area, and the suspect is in custody. Many people are outraged that Trump was quick to condemn the terror attack, considering his slow response to the white supremacist violence over the weekend.

Paying Respects: If you're on Twitter, share one of these moving Barcelona tributes honoring the victims and showing your support.

Star Wars + Huge News

This is major, Star Wars fans — it looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi is getting a spinoff. Few details are known at this time, including whether Ewan McGregor will reprise his famous role, but suffice it to say, fans are pumped to hear that the beloved character is getting his own standalone movie.

New Music Alert: The Biebs has a new song, and it may or may not be about a certain famous ex-girlfriend.

The Solar Eclipse + How To Prep

It's almost here, you guys. The (seriously) long-awaited solar eclipse is happening on Monday, and you're not going to want to miss it. Here's where you can see the eclipse all over the United States, and here's how to make your own eclipse viewer, if you haven't bought eclipse glasses — because you really don't want to look directly at it without the proper eyewear. Trust us.

Fun Fact: The Aztecs once believed that lunar eclipses could turn gestating fetuses into mice. Well, then.

The Bachelor + The Next Pick

If you're one of the many people hoping that Rachel's Bachelorette runner-up will get a second chance at reality TV love, I have some bad news: It's looking very unlikely that Peter will be the next Bachelor. A tweet from Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss hinted that the next pick will be someone who's ready to settle down with his love — aka not Peter, who wasn't able to propose at the end of his season. Whomp, whomp.

FYI: Here's what it's actually like to eat at the Cheetos restaurant.
