A Brand New Harry Potter Audiobook Is Here & It's Narrated By A 'Walking Dead' Star

Warner Bros. Pictures

A new Harry Potter audiobook is coming your way this spring! For the first time, the Quidditch Through the Ages audiobook will become available on Mar. 15, and you can pre-order it today, exclusively on Audible. In an unexpected twist, the brand-new Harry Potter audiobook is read by The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln — yes, folks, he's English — so fans of the AMC series and Love, Actually will have an extra-special something to enjoy when listening to Quidditch Through the Ages.

Potterheads know Quidditch Through the Ages as one of the books available in Hogwarts' expansive library. In the wizarding world of the Harry Potter books, the slim volume is the work of Kennilworthy Whisp. Whisp's name appeared on the real-world Quidditch Through the Ages when J.K. Rowling published it in 2001, alongside Newt Scamander's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Proceeds from the sales of Quidditch and Fantastic Beasts went to benefit the Comic Relief Charity, best known for its Red Nose Day, a fundraising event that has taken off on both sides of the Atlantic.

Like its predecessor, the Quidditch Through the Ages audiobook will support charity. In this case, proceeds from sales of the new Harry Potter audiobook will go to two good causes, Comic Relief and Lumos. According to the publisher's copy:

At least 15% of the net retail price of this audiobook will be made available by the publisher to Comic Relief and Lumos Foundation for their work with children and young people to help them have a better life. 20% of these monies will be used by Comic Relief and 80% will be used by Lumos Foundation.

The movie tie-in re-release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them added new material to the original book, and this audio rendition of Quidditch Through the Ages follows the same suit. The new Harry Potter audiobook "includes over an hour and a half of exclusive bonus content, featuring The History of the Quidditch World Cup, written by J.K. Rowling in 2014 for pottermore.com, now brought to life for the first time." Also included is Daily Prophet coverage of the 2014 Quidditch World Cup, as written by Ginny Potter and Rita Skeeter.

You can listen to the Quidditch Through the Ages audiobook on Mar. 15. The new Harry Potter audiobook is available for pre-order exclusively on Audible.
