Viola Davis' Custom Armani Dress Is Perfection

Who doesn't love Viola Davis? Everything she does leaves me speechless — her unforgettable movie roles, her moving acceptance speeches, and of course, her red carpet looks. The woman can do no wrong, and tonight further proves my point. Viola Davis' 2017 Oscars gown is just as bold, beautiful, and breathtaking as I would have hoped.

It's a big night for Davis — she's nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fences, and she's got a very, very good chance of walking away with a golden statue. This isn't the first time Davis has been nominated, however — in 2012, Davis nabbed a nom for The Help and in 2009, she was recognized for her role in Doubt. In fact, Davis is the most nominated black actress at the Oscars ever, but she hasn't won yet. I have a feeling tonight is her night, though, and Davis definitely dressed for the part of Academy Award winner.

Davis' Armani Prive gown might be my favorite red carpet gown that she's ever worn. It's sleek, daring, and totally on trend with those cold shoulders. What I love most about Davis' awards show dress picks is that she never shies away from standing out. Whether it's color or style, Davis goes big, but not too big — not in a way that would get her on the Worst Dressed list, but in a way that burns a memory into your brain. Davis knows how to make an amazing fashion statement and her gown tonight is proof of that.
