This 'Guardians 2' Actor Is Unrecognizable

Walt Disney Studios

Another day, another threat to the galaxy, and another job for the Guardians of the Galaxy. Coming back to save the galaxy a second time in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 the ragtag team of superheroes, Star-Lord, Rocket, Baby Groot, Gamora, and Drax, are going up against a new adversary: Ayesha. Ayesha, also known in the comics as Kismet or Her, among other names, makes her big screen debut in the newest installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Also making her MCU debut is actor Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Ayesha in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

As Ayesha, the genetic creation of scientists known as the Enclave, Debicki plays a key role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, at first as a potential ally to the Guardians, and then as an enemy. "Let's just say it goes from amiable to not-so-amiable quite quickly," Debicki revealed in an interview with io9 at San Diego Comic Con. In that same interview, the actor also hinted that fans might get to see her character in multiple forms throughout the film, saying, "She shifts a lot. How she looks kind of shifts."

This is good news for fans, who might have a tough time recognizing Debicki as Ayesha in GOTG 2. Based on the trailers, it looks like Debicki might spend the whole movie covered in body paint, but even if she wasn't, the actor still might be tough to place. In her short, but impressive career, Debicki has made a habit out of changing up her look in every project, something she is continuing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Audiences will likely have trouble pinning down where they've seen the star before. So, here's a brief refresher of her most well-known roles.

The Night Manager

Debicki starred in the hit mini-series as Jed Marshall, the sexy, confident woman who ends up in the middle of a love affair with Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston). Fun fact: Debicki got to share a much talked about sex scene with Hiddleston. It's pretty hot.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

In The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Debicki played Victoria Vinciguerra, her first big villain role. Not only did she get to try her hand at being bad, but the actor also got a chance to wear some pretty fabulous costumes on the set.

The Great Gatsby

Debicki's big break out role was that of Jordan Baker in The Great Gatsby, in which she went toe to toe with Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan. (Again, her costumes were on point.)

Eagle-eyed audiences might also recognize the actor from her turn as Lady Macduff in Macbeth (2015) or her performance as Caroline MacKenzie in Everest. The Australian star, who is also of Irish descent, also recently starred in the Australian television drama, The Kettering Incident.

If you still don't know Debicki, then you definitely will after seeing her Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
